Christmas Events in Wiltshire 2013

??????????????????????????We thought we’d bring you dates for some of the Christmas and seasonal events taking place across the county from lights switch on to lantern parades.

One of the biggest and most spectacular events takes place this Friday 29 November in Devizes, where you can see the massive parade of lanterns and a giant elephant lantern at the Devizes Christmas Festival and Lantern Parade.

The lantern parade has become an exciting and beautiful feature of the Christmas Festival with hundreds of people and many local schools taking part and making lanterns. In recent years local artists have made large scale lanterns to add to the spectacle, including a unicorn, two white horses and last year’s 30ft shark! This year they have planned something even bigger! Artists Chris and Mick Davey, Ollie Freeman and Michael Maxwell have been working throughout November to create a life size elephant lantern, complete with a special surprise on top!

Other Christmas events around the county include:

Amesbury Christmas Lights – Wednesday 4 December

Bradford on Avon Christmas Lights Switch On Friday –  29th November
