Funding is available to support partnership-working between schools and specialist music education providers in England to develop their music and education practice and activities. Exchanging Notes aims to support partnership-working between schools and specialist music education providers to:
• Enable young people at risk of low attainment, disengagement or educational exclusion to achieve the best musical, educational and wider outcomes.
• Promote a collective understanding of high quality music education, stimulating fresh thinking in music and education practice.
Grants of up to £120,000 are available and the 2014 deadline is 10 February 2014 at 5pm.
Each project must be a partnership between a school, or partnership of schools, and an external music organisation/provider in England. The lead applicant can be a school or another organisation.
To be eligible, the organisation must be a registered charity or a not-for-profit organisation; or a profit-sharing organisation that is applying for a self-contained music project that will not make profits for the organisation, and demonstrates a clear benefit to the public. Organisations must have been legally constituted for at least one year.
