Devizes Outdoor Celebratory Arts (DOCA), is inviting people help create a special elemental performance that will take place during the Devizes International Street Festival, on the evening of Sunday 24th August.
Inspired by English celebratory traditions of noise, fire and music and Devizes’ own history, you are invited to work with professional outdoor arts company Rag and Bone (www.rag-bone.org) across all aspects of the show. Choose from making visual elements using willow and scrap metal to creating sound, performing or helping to produce the event.
DOCA wants to create a new Street Band for the show too, so if you play a brass, reed or percussion instrument and want to make a big, bold noise out of doors, then come and join in the fun for this exciting one-off performance.
DOCA will be running workshops from Saturday 16th August in Devizes and throughout the following week to create the visual elements and develop the band, and the show will be devised in the run-up to the event itself.
To find out more come to an informal and fun get together on Friday 15th August, 8.00 p.m. in the Crown Centre, St John’s Street, Devizes or call Jo on 07880 239598, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.docadevizes.org.uk
