Opportunity: Call for artist/maker to lead a Christmas tree decorative scheme at Lacock

Help to create a great Christmas at Lacock Abbey:

‘Christmas with the Talbots’ is an exciting Christmas experience being organised by the National Trust property, in North Wiltshire. It is inspired by a documented Christmas of 1845 which was enjoyed by the family of photography pioneer William Henry Fox Talbot.

The National Trust are looking for an artist/maker to design and lead a decorative scheme for the Christmas tree in the Great Hall. The successful scheme would then cascade out to other parts of the property including the shop and tea-room.

It’s a chance to be at the heart of a much loved house at this festive time, to design and to work with groups of volunteers to make decorations and to help create a memorable experience for visitors. Experience of working in participatory project is highly desirable as is an understanding of conservation needs in historic setting.
