Be part of a special community celebration of water-inspired music with one of the finest period instrument ensembles in the world. A specially commissioned Digital Overture, including a poem and found water sounds written and captured by local contributors, will be performed twice as part of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment residency at Wiltshire Music Centre on Friday 24 – Saturday 25 April 2015.
We need you to record and submit your local water sounds:
- Drips, drops and splashes
- Babbling brooks
- Boats on the water
- A duck landing in a stream
- Canal locks opening and closing
Use your imagination! If your sound is chosen, it will be used in the Digital Overture (sounds may be manipulated by the artist). Submissions should be recorded at the highest quality possible, and no longer than 5 minutes.
Or write and submit your own poem:
Your poem should be about water, ideally as locally inspired as possible. The chosen poem will be recorded with a live OAE musician for the Digital Overture. It will also be used to inspire local schools taking part in the project, writing their own compositions.
