Opportunity: Consultant Music Director, Wiltshire Young Musicians

Wiltshire Young Musicians (WYM) is an independent charitable organisation that provides ensemble provision for children and young people in the West and North areas of Wiltshire. It runs a host of vibrant ensembles which rehearse on week day evenings after school. It gives regular concerts in Wiltshire and beyond. WYM has a reputation for the high quality of its teaching and performance.

WYM is seeking a consultant Music Director to lead the organisation with effect from September 2015. A major part of the role will be to conduct its flagship ensemble, the West Wiltshire Youth Orchestra. The appropriate candidate will be talented, inspirational and have proven experience of music teaching and conducting high level ensembles. He/she will have leadership and management experience and will be highly organised.

The Consultant Music Director will be engaged on a self employed basis. The proposed fee for the service which the Consultant Music Director will provide to WYM is £8,000 per annum. It is anticipated that the time commitment required to provide the service will be approximately 0.2 FTE (although the precise manner in which the service is delivered, in order to meet the objectives and requirements set by the Board of Trustees of WYM, will be a matter for the Music Director to decide).
