Calling all schools, clubs, care providers, businesses and organisations in Trowbridge!
Interested in starting a Community Choir in your work place or community centre?
Over the past 18 months, The Trowbridge Song Project has been collecting stories and songs from people who come from all over the world, but now call Trowbridge home. We have held 2 major concerts singing these world music songs with different Trowbridge communities and choirs. As part of our legacy to the town, we are sponsoring a Choir Leaders Training, run by Candy Verney in Autumn 2015.
The training will run over 4 Saturdays and 4 evenings. As part of the project, harmony arrangements have been made from many of the songs. These choir arrangements will be passed on to those who complete the course, to start off their own choirs.
This will be a hands-on, practical course, with philosophy, theory and lively discussion where appropriate. There are no entry requirements and you don’t need to be able to read music, though it is helpful. You do have to have a genuine interest, and experience of singing in a choir, or some musical knowledge.
Performances, songs, choir songs, audios of people’s stories can be seen via our website: www.trowbridgesongproject.co.uk
