We are looking for an adaptable and dynamic person to join our Heritage Trust in the South West of England. You will have experience of coordinating and planning events in the charity sector along with a consistent track-record of fundraising through donations and legacies. Our Supporters’ Scheme is in its infancy, but is growing well. You will develop the scheme and enable it to exceed its targets.
This job will suit someone with an innovative and entrepreneurial enthusiasm to reach new audiences in an appropriate way. You must be a strong communicator, being both persuasive and sensitive to convey the ethos of the Trust and engage with our visitors and service users. You will collaborate with our teams which deliver over 200 events and activities each year to over 10,000 people, to improve reach and income potential.
The South West Heritage Trust is a charity which delivers a broad range of heritage services across Somerset and Devon that were previously delivered by local authorities. With a turnover exceeding £3 million, we manage and run three museums (including the Museum of Somerset), 2 Archives and Local Studies services and look after the historic environment in Somerset, including over 400 acres of reserves . We are a growing organisation, and are seeking to develop our income from donations, events and legacies whilst consistently improving visitor experiences.
Based at the Somerset Heritage Centre in Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton there will be the need for travel to the other sites managed by the Trust and presence at events as required.
Salary: £25,493 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
