The Rifles Wardrobe and Museum Trust provides a small military museum, The Rifles Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum, which exhibits to the public the Collection and archives of the infantry regiments of Berkshire and Wiltshire with the aim of promoting learning, and giving inspiration and challenge to visitors.
We wish to appoint an Assistant Curator to work 25 hours a week to assist the Manager Curator in developing the Museum as a public attraction of excellence; preserving and celebrating the contribution of the men of the counties of Berkshire and Wiltshire to the infantry regiments of those counties, by displaying, cataloguing and caring for the collections and in providing access to them; in maintaining The Wardrobe site, and by deputising for the Manager Curator as required.
You will be expected to travel for training and occasionally for meetings. Depending on your qualifications you may need to be away over night for some training.
Hours: 25 per week. This may include some occasional weekend or evening work.
