Opportunity: Young Ambassadors at Salisbury Playhouse

salisburyplayhouselogoblackYoung people aged 14-21 who have an interest in theatre are being invited to apply to become a Young Ambassador at Salisbury Playhouse.

Salisbury Playhouse is looking for 10 young people who will get the chance to go behind the scenes and learn how the theatre works.

The Young Ambassadors meet monthly to discuss ideas and create ways in which Salisbury Playhouse can engage with young people in the local community. They meet staff members and engage in a variety of different activities within the building, as well as attending VIP and press nights and learning about the skills needed to work on and off the stage. The Young Ambassadors work with other young people and professional members of staff, generating ideas to improve Salisbury Playhouse’s relationship with young people in the local community.

Dave Orme, Youth Theatre Director, says “The Young Ambassadors are such an important part of what we do here at Salisbury Playhouse. It really is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and, working alongside professional theatre staff, really see your ideas and thoughts become a reality.”

Young Ambassadors act as advocates for Salisbury Playhouse and being part of the scheme can be helpful for university applications or on the CV of anyone hoping to pursue a career in theatre.

Anyone who is interested in becoming a Young Ambassador at Salisbury Playhouse must fill in an application form which is available at www.salisburyplayhouse.com. Completed applications must be returned by 30 September 2016.
