20 October 2016, 4 to 6pm at Wiltshire Council County Hall, Trowbridge
This training will look at how innovative musical engagement can support School Music Education Plans.
The focus of these sessions:
- Progression/innovation and new ways of working
- Raising aspiration for Special educational needs and disabilities students in school.
Open School Orchestras is a growing national movement led by OpenUp Music and delivered in partnership with Music Education Hubs, arts organisations and schools – providing young disabled people (aged 11-25) with opportunities to play in school ensembles and to perform. They include everything needed to establish and maintain an inclusive youth orchestra in your school – adapted musical repertoire, schemes of work and a new generation of accessible musical instruments.
This training will talk about the history and future of this innovative programme, and how your school can get involved in the future.
Designed for teaching staff in primary and secondary and special schools, music leaders and artists.
