2017 is a special year for Jane Austen’s House Museum, marking the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen’s death. The Museum has secured a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund that will deliver a programme of events and activities that will be managed by a 2017 Project Manager. As Media & Development Manager you will provide press and PR support for the HLF-funded project as well as communications and event support for a wider range of fundraising and PR focussed activities that will take place in 2017 including a fundraising appeal – ‘Jane’s Fund’.
Through effective and timely media, communications and event management, you will play a vital role in the success of 2017 by generating a regular stream of positive media coverage; increasing public awareness of, and therefore visitor numbers to, the Museum and through the successful delivery of events and fundraising communications.
You will be a proactive and organised communicator, with a passion for sharing Jane Austen’s House Museum’s unique story with a range of audiences including the media; the wider public; potential funders; existing donors and visitors.
You will have a positive ‘can do’ approach to your work, will be administratively self-sufficient and will enjoy working as part of a small team to drive excellent results.
