The Colwinston Charitable Trust was established in 1995 and distributes grants to UK registered charitable organisations working predominantly in the areas of Opera, Classical Music and the Visual Arts.
They offer grants of between £5,000 and £20,000 to enable organisations achieve higher standards of performance and/or presentation. The trust will give priority to high quality projects, and projects that help people to better appreciate the possibilities the arts can offer.
Please note that although applications are accepted from UK based charities (e.g. Birmingham Contemporary Music Group recently received funding), its funding is primarily directed towards the support of activity that benefits Wales.
Of particular interest to the Trust are collaborative projects that assist organisations to share costs, skills and expertise, and that extend the range and reach of the activity to be funded; and high quality projects that help young people to better appreciate the possibilities the arts can offer, and those that aim to improve access and understanding of the art form.
There are two deadlines a year, the 30th September and the 31st March.
