Hat Fair is the UK’s longest running festival of Outdoor Arts, with a 40 year track record. Hat Fair inspires and is inspired by the people, heritage and public spaces within the city of Winchester. Our aim is to shine a light on the city, transforming the everyday into the extraordinary. In 2013 Hat Fair, which is an Arts Council England NPO, became part of Live Theatre Winchester Trust which also runs the Theatre Royal Winchester. Our vision now encompasses theatre, site specific, participatory and outdoor arts to create a year-round programme of cultural engagement and celebration around the city and beyond.
Current Hat Fair Director, Michelle Walker, shortly leaves us to become Executive Director of Greenwich+Docklands Festivals. We are therefore seeking an artistically adventurous, committed and ambitious Director to take responsibility for programming, managing and leading this important Festival and its associated events.
