Widening participation in volunteering: A mentored volunteering project in practice

The Holburne Museum, Bath

24th February 2017

Would your museum like to help people to improve their wellbeing through volunteering?

Are there people in your community who could benefit from support to participate in volunteering with mentoring?

Could an opportunity to talk through funding and partnerships with other organisations be a catalyst for diversifying volunteer opportunities in your museum?

The Holburne Museum is the lead partner in the Big Lottery funded Pathways to Wellbeing project, and will be presenting the exciting outcomes of their project at this event. The day is being run jointly with the Sustainable Volunteering Officers from the South West Museum Development Programme, which supports museums across the region to reach out to local communities and offer volunteering opportunities to an increasingly diverse range of people.

This event will inform you about the outcomes of the project; enable you to talk to representatives from MIND and Remploy, and start the planning for outcomes in your own museum or heritage site.
