Opportunity: Oexmann Art Award Competition and Exhibition 2017

Oexmann Art Award 2017The object of the competition is to encourage and promote Wiltshire artists and is open to everyone born or living in Wiltshire (Wiltshire Museum reserves the right to ask prize-winners for proof of birthplace or residence).

Entries may be of any subject matter and can be in any two dimensional medium i.e. painting, drawing, collage and printmaking but not computer generated. Entries must be original work and the judges will not consider works that reveal copying, plagiarism or use of photography.

To allow the maximum number of entries to be exhibited, the overall size including frame must not exceed 80cm x 60cm (landscape or portrait) for adult entries. These dimensions are strictly enforced due to limited gallery space.

Children and young people can enter up to A3 in size for ages 6 to 14, or up to A2 in size from ages 15 – 18. Children’s entries are acceptable on paper or card and can also enter 3D pieces (size 25cm x 25cm x 25 cm).

Entries will be accepted at the Wiltshire Museum, Devizes from 6 – 12 March during normal opening hours, and judging will take place on 15 March.  Judges are : Mitch Griffiths, David Inshaw and James Saxton.

Prizes awarded in junior and adult categories.

Winning and selected entries will then be hung in the Oexmann Art Exhibition which will run at the Wiltshire Museum from 2 April until 29 May 2017.
