Opportunity: Youth Art Competition for The Peacock Arts Trail Exhibition

peacock art trail 2017The Peacock Arts Trail is back and will be opening artist studios from 30 September until 8 October 2017.

Corsham Town Council is thrilled to offer all young people who live within The Peacock Arts Trail boundary the chance to enter a piece of artwork in a special, brand new competition. All winning entries and runners up will be exhibited at the Town Hall in Corsham for the duration of the trail.

Three winners from each age category will also receive tickets to the Grand Opening Night Launch Party on Friday 29 September 2017 where they will be able to meet other artists from The Peacock Arts Trail.

The theme is based around Corsham’s noisiest residents, Peacocks, who can often be seen strutting along the High Street.  To enter, submit a piece of artwork demonstrating the title “Mythical Peacocks”. Let imagination run free and invent a new creature – part person, part animal, part dragon, part cat! The possibilities are endless.

Entries can be in any medium, including:

  • Painting
  • Ceramics
  • Printmaking
  • Drawing
  • Textiles
  • Mixed media
  • Mosaics
  • Sculpture
  • Digital Art / Photography

The competition is open to all age groups and will be judged at the end of the summer term. Winners will be chosen from the following age groups:

  • 7 – 10 years
  • 11 – 14 years
  • 15 -18 years
