Development Officer

Part Time, 16 hrs per week (Freelance)

Salary – £37,500 (pro rata)

WRMS is a music charity supporting and enabling local communities and individuals to realise their music making ambitions and initiatives. Our particular focus is our “Music on your Doorstep” rural outreach programme which aims to widen participation in music through high quality workshops and activities. Other aspects of our work include bursaries and awards for young people and an instrument hire scheme.

WRMS seeks a dynamic and self-motivated freelance Development Officer to generate income and support our work. With experience in the arts, applicants will have excellent communication skills and will work well as part of a small dedicated team.

This position requires applicants to work from our Creative Hub in Trowbridge, however, we recognise the need for flexibility in hours and location.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Building WRMS’s 3-5 year fundraising strategy to increase income.
  • Networking.
  • Grant applications.
  • Engaging a growing force of members and volunteers to carry out various functions within the charity.
  • Managing and updating databases to record donor contact and preference information.
  • Working alongside our Creative Director and reporting to the Board of Trustees on a regular basis.

The initial contract will be 100 days, to be worked across a period of 1 year, at a rate of £150 per day, with the intention of extending and growing this role.
