Parkwood Theatres have answered the call to reopen The Queens and Landmark Theatres in North Devon. We have an interim contract in place until 31st March 2018 and we are keen to recruit a competent and driven Theatre Manager to oversee operations at both venues. The Queens and Landmark Theatres provide a key destination for the residents and visitors to the North Devon region. The Queen’s Theatre in Barnstaple and the Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe are the latest additions to the Parkwood Entertainment family of venues.
As a rapidly growing division within the Parkwood Holdings plc group of companies, Parkwood Entertainment has annualised turnover of circa £8m, operating five theatre facilities in the south of England. This is your chance to join our senior management team.
Supporting the Regional General Manager, you will be responsible for the operational efficiencies, financial reporting and performance, staff supervision and the general day to day operation of the theatres.
This is an exciting opportunity for high calibre candidates to work with the Regional General Manager and members of Parkwood Entertainment’s Executive Directors to mobilise and drive the success of these much loved and important regional theatres.
Applicants will ideally have management experience in a theatre or other arts venue environment and be educated to a degree standard or equivalent. A commercial ability is essential. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a passion for the arts and a determination to drive growth at the venue.
The Queens Theatre will present an eclectic mix of entertainment for all. Its traditional proscenium arch and intimate auditorium make it the perfect venue for drama, family shows, comedy, music and variety. The Queens will also play a vital role in the Community Arts offer for the town. The theatre is serviced by its own dressing rooms, licensed bars and refreshment facilities with seating for up to 680 people.
The Landmark Theatre is the ultimate in flexible performance and event spaces. An attractive theatre with a seating capacity of 480, with strong technical abilities is complemented by The Pavilion which is a dynamic events space, with numerous possible configurations, including theatre style, dining with a dance floor, cabaret, thrust, end on, the permutations are limitless. The Landmark will become the home of a multitude of Community Arts events, entertainment, festivals and eating and drinking. The space is serviced by its own dressing rooms, licensed bar and refreshment facilities with a seating for up to 150 people.
