The Concert Manager is a new role in the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s (BSO’s)busy Concerts Department has been created to manage and co-ordinate day-to-day scheduling and logistics of all activities of this full-time orchestra. Reporting to the Head of Concerts & Programming, the role will form an important link between advance planning and the delivery of the orchestra’s rehearsals, concerts, recording sessions, travel and associated activity.
The Orchestra Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of one of the UK’s leading full-time symphony orchestras. This is a key position within the one of the UK’s leading full-time symphony orchestras. Main responsibilities include the management of the contract musicians and stage crew; booking extra players as required by the programme and schedule of work; attending all orchestra calls, overseeing logistical, staging and venue requirements; calculating subsistence and freelance payments. Duties will be shared with the Deputy Orchestra Manager.
The BSO is also seeking to appoint a Development Manager to support the fundraising ambitions of its successful Development Team.
