Inspired by Benjamin Britten, Friday Afternoons is an international initiative encouraging young people to sing. Our ever-growing Song Bank contains new music and support material to help teachers develop their students’ skills – as performers, listeners and composers.
Friday Afternoons now commissions new repertoire every year for children’s voices, with a whole host of resources available for free on the website, including teaching and accessibility resources to help as many people as possible engage with the songs.
The 2017 Project Fund is now open for applications. This is for Friday Afternoons based projects that you would like to run between 1 September 2017 and 31 March 2018.
Last year Friday Afternoons supported 20 projects from organisations across the UK through the Project Fund. This year, a total of £10,000 is available to continue enabling projects to happen. Grants of up to £2000 are available for exceptional applications, with the majority of grants offered being in the region of £1000. The minimum you are able to apply for is £500.
We encourage the use of repertoire from the entirety of the Friday Afternoons Song Bank, including commissions from all years of the project.
