The Open Fund supports the development of outstanding songwriters and composers of all genres and backgrounds and at different stages of their career.
Support is available to any music creator or not-for-profit organisation whose project fits with all three of our funding priorities:
- To support the creation, performance and promotion of outstanding new music in any genre
- To enable the UK’s most talented music creators to realise their potential
- To inspire audiences
The Open Fund is split into two distinct strands:
The Open Fund for Organisations – supports new music projects led by promoters, talent development organisations, venues, curators and large performance groups (bands and small musical groups should apply as Music Creators). The fund offers grants of up to £10,000.
The Open Fund for Music Creators – these are songwriters, composers, solo artists, bands and performers. The fund offers grants of up to £5,000.
Funding for both strands includes support of touring, music creator residencies, promotion and marketing, commissions of new music by UK-based creators, exciting community projects involving high-quality music creators, recording and live performances featuring new UK music.
More details about both strands online.
The next deadline for The Open Fund is 2 October 2017
