This year, BBC Points West is celebrating 60 years of broadcasting and has launched a young film makers project to give individuals between 16-30 years the chance to engage in a little creativity and get involved.
We are inviting young people to create films of 90 seconds or less, telling a story important to them and related to the West Country. The film can be about anything the maker wants as long as they have a good story and are able to show how their film is relevant to the Points West transmission area (including Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Bath, Bristol and North Dorset). It can also be shot on a device such as a smartphone, tablet or small camera.
Some of the films submitted will be shown on BBC Points West and on our BBC iPlayer pages, as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages and there will be a final selection shown as part of the Encounters Film Festival in Bristol this coming September. Films can be submitted at any point up until 23.59 on Monday 31st July, 2017 – the sooner the films are made though, the sooner they may be shown!
