Training: Introduction to Participatory Arts and Media, MOOC (Massive Open Online Course)

A unique opportunity to learn about arts and participation via a free MOOC (Massive Open Online Course)!

The Introduction to Participatory Arts and Media MOOC is designed to reflect the passion and artistic achievement of the UK’s participatory arts sector and beyond. This course contains talks and study materials created by inspirational artists and practitioners who work in a wide range of settings with a variety of arts and media forms. It offers the opportunity to engage with key concepts, histories and conversations in the field and to learn useful skills for supporting, reflecting on and evaluating participatory arts work. It is designed for artists and creatives at different stages of their careers who are already working in the sector and also people who are interested to find out more about the transformational role of participatory arts in people’s lives.

It has been developed by the University of Sunderland in conjunction with ArtWorks Alliance, ArtWorks –U and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation as part of its programme to support the continuing professional development of artists working in participatory settings.

The pilot course launches on June 28th 2017 and enrolment opened on 22 May 2017 through the Canvas Network.
