Swindon Museums & Heritage manages STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway. It is the largest and most popular museum in Swindon, and second only to Stonehenge in Wiltshire. We welcome around 150,000 visitor every year. The Museum celebrates Brunel’s railway, stretching from Paddington to Penzance and Portsmouth to Liverpool. The collections contain around 100,000 items with everything from locomotives and carriages to archives and photographs. Some work will also be required at Lydiard House. Both venues are Accredited museums through Arts Council England.
