The Society for Storytelling www.sfs.org.uk is looking for a new administrator. We are a registered charity, a company limited by guarantee and require someone to manage our accounts, our trustee and other papers, provide project administrative support, attend meetings, take minutes we would prefer someone who has fundraising skills, as well as the myriad of associated tasks which arise from time to time. It is essential that you are computer literate and we are seeking a person with the following abilities to:
- Create financial management spreadsheets
- Take, write and circulate minutes of meetings
- Keep our meetings diary
- Have a knowledge of charity law
- File/archive administration and other papers
- Have familiarity with arts administration
- Also preferable is fundraising skills
We anticipate that this would involve approximately 12 hours per week , although this will be flexible. Because we rely on membership fees and fundraising to fund the society we can only offer a one – year contract, but this will be renewable depending on funds. The contracted person will work from home apart from attendance at meetings. These are 3 or four face-to face meetings a year and 4-6 telephone or skype conference calls. The fee is £5000 per year plus travel and out-of-pocket expenses.
