Job: Education Visits Officer (West), English Heritage

This is a great opportunity to inspire the thousands of school children that visit our historic sites across the South West and West Midlands, including Kenilworth, Goodrich and Pendennis Castles, and to provide them with lasting memories of their school trip. You`ll be part of a team that wants to provide the best learning experiences possible and maintain a quality education offer.
The main role of the Education Visits Officer is to develop and promote an offer for schools which increases Free Education Visits (FEVs) and paid for Discovery Visits (DVs) to these iconic places. You`ll devise, implement and evaluate education programmes.
You`ll assist with promotional activity to education audiences, including visiting schools and other education providers to promote English Heritage places as a learning resource, plus you`ll deliver training events for teachers and other educators.
As part of the role you will work with the Learning team to create exciting new resources, which support free education visits to our places.
We work closely with education volunteers to deliver some of our Discovery Visit workshops, so you`ll need to manage a team of volunteers and ensure they feel supported and motivated and that their work is of consistent quality. You`ll also need to assist with education volunteer recruitment as required.
We`re looking for an individual who has experience of working in an education setting and of developing and delivering education programmes to a range of education audiences.
You need to be very organised and able to prioritise tasks. You`ll travel regularly across the territory and therefore a driving licence is essential.
We protect an internationally-important collection of over 400 historic sites and half a million artefacts and we inspire over 10 million people a year to value, visit and enjoy them.
You will enjoy the rewards of working as part of a great team based at Bristol and playing a pivotal role in developing the education offer across the organisation. As well as a competitive salary and benefits package including a generous pension, 25 days leave a year and free entry to all English Heritage properties for you, another adult and up to 6 children (under the age of 19).
