At University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust we are currently recruiting for an Arts Programme Director on an 18 month fixed term contract basis. This role has been funded by Above & Beyond, the trust’s charitable partners. This is a newly created post and is an exciting opportunity to join our Trust to deliver a programme of arts initiatives across our hospitals.
The main aspects of the role will include (but will not be limited to):

- Lead the development of an ambitious and inspiring arts strategy and annual plan

- Lead the preparation, commissioning and management of an annual programme of arts activities, in line with the agreed strategy, encompassing a range of art forms

- Ensure the arts programme engages staff, supports staff involvement and facilitates staff contributions, as well as those of patients and members of the public
-
- Establish and lead appropriate programme governance and operate programme and budget management and reporting arrangements to deliver the programme objectives and demonstrate appropriate use of resources
The ideal candidate for the role will:

- Have an arts degree or equivalent professional qualification or 3 years relevant experience in an arts-related discipline

- Have specialist excellent knowledge of contemporary public and community arts practice

- Have experience of managing budgets

- Have knowledge of the arts in healthcare sector and associated aims and evidence base
