The Board and Chief Executive of the Three Choirs festival wish to appoint a Head of Development who will work with them to develop and implement a dynamic fundraising strategy so that we can deliver our bold ambitions for the Festival’s future.
The Three Choirs Festival is an event of international standing, thought to be the oldest classical music festival in the world. Its mission is to be a beacon for music in the region, a champion of the choral tradition, and a festival which is accessible to all. In recent years the organisation has made significant progress in reviewing its governance and administration, established a fledgling participation and outreach programme, and stabilised its financial position, while continuing to deliver a multi-faceted festival which presents more than 70 events in an eight-day period.
The Head of Development’s first task will be to review the existing fundraising model: a five-year giving scheme and a fixed-term fundraiser contract both conclude at the end of 2019, and there is an opportunity for the successful candidate to build a department that supports their vision for future income generation. The organisation also aspires to be a strong contender for inclusion in the next portfolio of ACE NPOs, and a key part of this role will be working towards that ambition.
